I've been blogging for three and a half years. I've written over 500 posts. For the past two weeks or so I've been trying to figure out where No Signposts in the Sea is going. I don't post every day, but I spend a fair amount of time thinking about the blog, outfit posts and future topics. I am a slow writer, and posts that have more "intellectual" content take time.
Recently I've been feeling that blogging takes up too much time from living. There are things I want to do in life, such as volunteering and more serious writing, and especially in terms of the latter, the blog has become a bit of an excuse to not engage in something that is more demanding and less instantly gratifying. I have a long history of procrastination habits, and right now I spend my time drafting blog posts when I really should be working on my writing.
I am going to put No Signposts in the Sea on hiatus, just to get a better handle on the things I really want to do with my life at this point. I'll be visiting your blogs from time to time, so this does not mean goodbye. Once I figure things out, I'll be back.
Lots of love,
Tiia

I hope it works out well! :-)
Ahhhhhhhhhhh. Will miss your posting. But life must come first. good luck friend. xxx
That's totally understandable, and I hope you find the right balance. We'll still be here when you get back!
All the best on your journey. I don't comment often, but I truly enjoy your posts. Will look forward to when you are ready to return!
I will miss your posts. There are only a few outfit blogs where I appreciate the writing/content and make it a point to read every post - and yours was/is one of them.
Good for you for realizing that this blog might be holding you back and for giving yourself the time and space to do other things.
Selfishly I hope you can do all of those things AND come back.
Lots of support from me, sweetie!! oxox, CR
hope you'll find what you're looking for.
Perfectly understood.
We all need to move forwards.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do!

I respect your need for a break and I've been giving my own blog a lot of thought recently as to what I want from it, but I just thought I'd say that I always enjoy your thoughtful posts and good luck with the living.
Will be missing you, but take as much time as you need. Wishing you all the best in figuring it all out!

I will miss your posts, but totally know the feeling of needing to put life first. You are a wonderful writer, and am excited for you to be taking on more serious writing endeavors.
You'll be missed. Good luck with your writing! Perhaps when you get something published, you'll share with us here? (You're on my reader, so it would be an easy update).
I'm sorry that you won't be blogging as regularly - I've enjoyed reading your posts very much, especially the intellectual ones.
But I agree that living is the most important thing. All the best in your "real life" endeavours.
Good luck to you, and thank you for all of the thoughts you put out there! I really appreciated your writing, and always continued the dialog in my own head, which is one of my criteria for a great blog!

Will be missing your always thoughtful posts... but take as much time as you need to figure out what you want/where (if) blogging fits into that scheme of things! Good luck and enjoy the moving forward. :)
Waves I'll miss your posts, but I know what you mean, I have been feeling the same way, I wish you the best and hope that you'll post once in a while. Hope you enjoy the wonderful things in life. =)
Oh dear, and just when I "found" you... best of luck Tiia, and I hope you do make good use of your writing skills; you write so well, as well as put together and wear the most lovely outfits very well.
Best wishes for whatever you choose to do,
Carolyn
I will really miss your posts, but I understand how blogging could sidetrack us... I'm hoping and wishing it will be a fruitful period for you and I'm looking forward to reading your books maybe even more than reading your blogposts! Keep on writing!
And definitely keep in touch! :)
good luck! you are super inspiring and i will miss your blog, but i think your plans to work on your own writing sound awesome.
I wish you the best of luck. It's a pity because I just recently found your blog and I love it, but I hope you do well in your endeavors!

i am sorry to hear this, but the truth is I have been wondering how the changes in my household will affect my blog. Like you, I expect it will grow increasingly occasional.
wish you all the best. take you're time.
Dear Tiia,
Your "more intellectual" posts are really like essays. The sad thing is, once posted on a blog, the writing is in limbo. You can't publish it anywhere else, and since it's self-published....well, you know how that goes. So I understand completely but still regret that you're taking a break, as your blog is one of my very favorite reads. I haven't forgotten about the Mexican dress! I'll get upstairs tomorrow & measure it.
I'll miss your posts but a hiatus is good once in a while :)
Bummer for us readers! Will miss you :)
I don't know how I missed this when you first posted it, but I wanted to say that I am excited for you but very sad for me. I enjoy the writing on your blog more than any other, so I'll miss you immensely. However, I completely understand and wish you the best.
Im still about 2 months behind on most your posts as my life gets in the way of reading everything!!! I do hope you will come back after some reflection, maybe post a bit less often like once a week? I finally answered your style questions on my blog here;http://www.stylesymmetry.com/2011/09/20/feelings-on-my-current-99-piece-wardrobe/. I hope you do come back, but understand if not. You will be greatly missed.
