Pink Ribbons, Inc.

I came across this trailer on a l'allure garconniere's tumblr. Looks like a documentary every woman should watch.

Just stumbled across it, and thought it might be of interest.

as with all good causes it can derail so very fast and loose focus.
I've never cared for wearing various ribbons, except the red one for AIDS awareness, but I'd wear it every single day of the year except on 1 December.

This movie looks well worth seeing!

One of the authors speaking in this trailer is Barbara Ehrenreich. She wrote a really fascinating book called Bright Sided that came out in the past year or two and I really recommend it. She spoke of her experience with breast cancer and being told, basically, that if she didn't keep upbeat about it then she couldn't expect to get better. It was a really good book and went beyond this topic, towards a more general analysis of cultural pressure to always keep a positive spin.

She also wrote a book that I enjoyed call Nickel and Dimed, in which she spent time working at minimum wage for a year and described the housing and food options and working conditions that were available to her.
